Title: CGX Advocate
We work with community partners in the fight against cancer. In 2003, funding was secured to research and map the entire human genome. This DNA mapping project, at a cost of five billion dollars, has critical public health consequences for individuals and society.
The genome is what all humans have in common at the genetic levelit is our DNA. Mutations in the genome are the cause of hereditary cancers such as breast cancer, prostate, pancreatic, and other forms of cancer.
When a mutation is detected in the genome there are solutions provided by medical technology to make it far less likely that cancer will ever actually develop.
Prediction is the closest thing that we currently have to a cure for cancer, which is preventative medicine. It is also a major public health win as the expense of chemotherapy is overwhelming Medicare.
Preventative medicine is the best hope for preserving Medicare. This is why Medicare pays for these types of wellness screenings.
We are an organization of public health advocates dedicated to helping Medicare beneficiaries and others who qualify, receive hereditary cancer screening at no cost. We work with community partners to facilitate this advocacy. Community partners include religious organizations, adult communities and centers, and other public and private organizations. We provide an educational presentation in a group setting for our community partners at no cost or obligation.
