HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Central Minority Maintenance is currently seeking a full-time heavy equipment operator for our project located at Savannah River Site, New Ellenton, SC. Persons of interested MUST be able to pass the site background check in order to gain access to the site, in addition to completing a site required safety course. Failure to obtain either will result in the applicant being removed from consideration for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Must be experienced and proficient in the operation of a diverse amount of heavy equipment to include motor grader, bulldozer, backhoe, excavator, soil stabilizer, roller, tractor, etc.
Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill the equipment as necessary.
Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
Heavy equipment mechanical experience is a plus.
Safety:
Promote, execute and adhere to the companys safety plan.
Attend daily and weekly safety meetings.
Report any damage, incident or near misses in the worksite and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the companys safety program.
Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endangering the well-being of others.
Education/Experience
Certified heavy equipment operator with minimum of 3 years of experience
Position: Full-Time
Work Hours: Monday Thursday, 6:30am to 5:00pm, occasional weekend work required.
Pay:
Starting pay for this position is $21 to $28 per hour.
Benefits:
Employee is entitled to (1) hour of sick time for every (30) hours worked, up to 56 hours of paid sick leave per fiscal year; (10) paid holidays per year, and; (2) weeks of paid vacation after one year of service to the contractor.
