Our Barnesville, GA location is seeking a highly self-motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our Winding group. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, is dependable and accountable. Are you ready to shape the future with us?Purpose:This position helps to ensure material flow to meet production, departmental and customer demands.Responsibilities/ Accountabilities: Operate forklift to unload or move components for storage, staging or placement Stock and rotate materials as necessary. Load and unload trucks, if applicable. Complete proper documentation and tracking requirements as needed. Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments needs. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas Sort cargo before loading and unloading Ensure accurate scanning of materials in and out of inventory Checks items for proper packaging to ensure safe transportation. Ensure materials are transported safely and without damage, Inspect received material for damage and defects. Initiate appropriate action when material received is damaged or defective. Helps ensure departmental 6S standards are met. Follow all safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:STANDING­ Stand on hardwood and /or concrete floor for up to 12 hoursMOVING (self)­ Walk 500 ft. approx. 100 times/shift.MOVING (materials)­ 100%.HEARING/SPEAKING­ Able to hear and speak with supervisors, technicians, and co­workers to perform job properly.REACHING­ 80%.BENDING/STOOPING­ 80%CLIMBING­ 80%SITTING­ 80%VISUAL ACUITY­ Color vision required with normal vision to perform job properly.Job RequirementsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:­Meets eligibility requirements.­Must be able to do basic math and read.­Ability to operate lift trucks and obtain licensing­High School diploma or GED.­Computer literate.­Experience desired.Job TypeManufacturingDivision Footer TextReady to drive with Continental?
