The crew leader will provide quality service that meets or exceeds the needs of the customer. This position will have direct reports and is responsible for directing members in daily operations including quality control, and safety. The activities listed below are not all inclusive; however, they are indicative of the type of activities normally performed. Other duties may be assigned.
Position Summary:
Daily review with Operations Manager to prepare and review the daily schedule.
Works with Operations Manager on staffing needs and concerns.
Loads/fill gas cans, mowers, checks fluids and tire pressure on all equipment, ensures all tools are load on truck along with all necessary equipment.
Ensures all equipment is secured and is in working condition.
Performs and manages landscape maintenance tasks on customer’s property.
Manages and performs all tasks including but not limited to leaf and debit removal, bed edging and mulch installation.
Manages and performs all daily grounds maintenance tasks including but not limited to mowing, string trimming, edging, blowing of curbs and sidewalks.
Provides on the job training to crew members to the standards of GROW and oversees tasks of grounds maintenance service provided.
Sprays chemicals as needed.
Reports any damaged or broken equipment to Operations Manager.
Oversees, ensures, and practices the proper use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment.
If needed, reports any customer concerns immediately to Operations Manager. If required, update customer with the status of the work progress.
Completes daily unload/load of equipment and ensures that truck is clean of any trash or debris.
Washes trucks and equipment on a weekly basis or as required by the Operations Manager.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED is required. 2 or 4 year degree in Landscaping or Business is a plus but not required.
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Crew Leader.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Flexible in schedule to work a varied schedule including weekends.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold).
Will be required to stoop, stand, and bend for 10 hours or more a day.
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good record.
Must be able to carry backpacks in excess of 20 pounds.
Must be able to walk 2 to 6 miles per day.
Must be able lift, pull, and push objects.
Must have basic understanding of mechanical and equipment maintenance.
Dependability is a must.
Job requirements

Working days vary between weekdays and weekends
40 hours per week
Overtime is required for this position
