What You Will Do:

Provides direction and management of production operations. Ensures compliance with company procedures and product specifications. Ensures use of machinery, chemicals and tools are used in accordance with company policies. Ensures that production is documented and recorded.

• Maintain inventory of raw product and packaging to meet production needs. Rotate stock as required.
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe and operating status; address any issues and correct in a timely manner.
• Work with Plant Manager to ensure that production goals are met, including efficiency, hours, costs and safety.
• Schedule staff based on production demand.
• Supervise production crews and perform evaluations as necessary; conduct disciplinary action as needed
• Ensure that department is completing paperwork as necessary and in a timely manner.
• Supervise and ensure that product is ready for scheduled deliveries.
• Any problems or issues reported to Plant Manager. Issues related to food safety reported to QA Manager as needed.
• Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]

Education and Work Experience

• Mechanical experience required. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
• Previous manufacturing experience (food production) and Supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
