What You Will Do:

This job will have supervisory responsibility for the efficiency, scheduling and safety of 2-7 sanitation personnel. Provides direction and management of sanitation operations. Ensures compliance with company sanitation procedures. Ensures use of machinery, lifts, chemicals and tools are used in accordance with company policies. Ensures that sanitation is documented and recorded.

• Work with Plant Manager to ensure that sanitation goals are met, including efficiency, hours, costs and safety.
• Maintain inventory of sanitation supplies. Rotate stock as required.
• Ensures that all equipment is in safe and operating status. Ensure that any issues are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
• Supervise and ensure that warehouse is cleaned on a regular basis including waste disposal as necessary.
• Schedule staff for proper sanitation before releasing areas to production staff.
• Conduct training and safety meetings as necessary; conduct disciplinary action as needed
• Ensure that department is completing paperwork as necessary and in a timely manner.
• Any problems or issues reported to Plant Manager. Issues related to food safety reported to QA Manager as needed.

Education and Work Experience

• Mechanical experience required. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
• Previous experience in sanitation required or professional level training in food safety, such as HACCP Certification.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
