Overview/Responsibilities:
APIs are a critical component of any digital ecosystem and State Farm is committed to advancing and maturing our offerings in the API space. We need your help to do it! Don't Worry Be API Product Team is responsible for delivering guidance, patterns, and education on the use of APIs and Event Driven Architecture at State Farm. We are a highly collaborative team who partners across ET and beyond to identify ways to move our application integration story forward through APIs and Event Driven Architecture.
Our team currently is focused on the establishment of an Enterprise API Catalog, maturation of the Enterprise API Strategy, and advancement of Event Driven Architecture practices both on-prem and in the Public Cloud. Additionally, DevOps practices and automated testing practices will also be utilized on the team and developed with this role. Strong development skills, a passion for learning new technologies, and a desire to help others is crucial for this position. Experience designing and building APIs is strongly desired and Event Driven Architecture experience is a plus.
Qualifications
Desired/Preferred Skills:
Strong software development background
Experience designing and/or using APIs
Understanding web service design, such as REST, and API development and testing AWS Certifications a plus!
Practical experience with EDA solutions (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS)
Experience with Terraform (or similar infrastructure as code software tools)
Practical experience with agile methodologies and continuous integration environments
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical knowledge effectively at all levels of the organization
3-4 years experience desired

Assists in the development of automated testing and supporting code as necessary to support stories.
Completes required documentation to communicate required information to deployment, maintenance, support and business teams.
Adopts Service Design, where appropriate, through utilization of modularity within architecture to enable continuous delivery.
Considers the application of emerging technology solutions to increase efficiency and effectiveness; expectation of continuous innovation.
Resolves problems that result in a decreased time to market; improves quality, enhances flexibility and embraces the solution provider mindset.
Provides input into overall testing strategy and plan; contributes to testing approach and scenarios for requirements.
