We are seeking an experienced individual with Disaster Recovery knowledge to provide technical expertise to ensure business continuity in the event of a disruption. This Infrastructure Analyst role will engage in consulting on strong technical recovery procedures and identify risks in the enterprise where technology may not be recoverable or that does not meet the business recovery needs. TREC team members also work with Technology Owners to determine how to exercise the recovery of business functionality. This role involves working across departments and areas, bringing the business and IT together, staying current on industry practices and staying abreast of internal governance and compliance policies & standards. Applicants should demonstrate a strong BC/DR consulting mindset and enjoy learning quickly, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity.
What you will do:
Consult with Plan Owners, advising on strong technical recovery plans, design and patterns while looking for gaps and identifying risk as related to recovery for both On-prem and Cloud.
Understand Enterprise policies and standards and connect with technical recovery Plan Owners to review and discuss adherence needs and quality updates to Technical Recovery plans.
Participate in On-prem and Cloud Technical Recovery Exercises to conduct business process validation.
Conduct vendor exercises for State Farm's critical service providers.
Help to mature recovery, exercise and governance strategies.
Coordinate work across large areas and departments and work with various levels of leadership to drive exercise buy-in and participation.
Qualifications
What experience and knowledge you will need:
Analytical skills: Ability to review technical solutions and understand how they work, where they may fail, and the risks associated.
Risk management: Identification of technical/operational risks and ability to explain/document impacts.
Big picture perspective.
General understanding of the technologies (platforms, databases, storage, network, and vendors used at State Farm).
Ability to handle ambiguity and to thrive while working in grey areas.
Curious consulting mindset asking the right questions to identify gaps.
Proactive attitude diving in to complex situations right away as opposed to having instructional work.
Understanding of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery concepts.
Understanding current recovery practices and future strategic recovery direction.
Understanding of deployment patterns, infrastructure and platforms, especially Cloud.
Experience with Cloud deployments and understanding of BC/DR issues related to Cloud deployments.
Experience with Disaster Recovery exercises is a plus.
Experience translating between technical and non-technical resources.
Navigating the organization and influencing decision makers.
Strong Consulting mindset and desire to influence business partners to reduce risk.
AWS Cloud Practitioner, CRISC, and/or ABCP/CBCP certifications a plus!
