This position is responsible for drawing and designing manufacturing and inspection fixtures using an Engineering format with dimensional tolerances. This position will also work with Maintenance and Tool & Die Technicians to help ensure department documentation is available, accurate and effective.

The immediate need for this position shall be to create drawings for fixtures needed for Six Sigma and other projects and hand sketches of fixtures used throughout the Manufacturing floor.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:

• Converts hand sketches of fixtures into CAD drawings that can be fitted and maintained electronically.
• Creates drawings for fixtures needed for Six Sigma and other projects and hand sketches of fixtures used throughout the Manufacturing floor.
• Measure and create drawings from existing fixtures & machines on the manufacturing floor (Reverse Engineering).
• Provides Engineering drawings used to control Manufacturing inputs such as machine inspection and setup fixtures. These drawings shall be used when creating prototypes, production fixtures and improving machine design.
• Creates CAD drawings in a timely manner for jigs, fixtures, products and components according to ASME drafting standards as well as WIKA internal standard. This includes determining dimensional tolerances and verification of drawing designs.
• Ensures drawing and file maintenance accuracy and clarity.
• Supports Tool & Die and Manufacturing needs pertaining to the creation and modification of jigs, fixtures and machine drawings.
• Assists Tool & Die, CIQ, Maintenance and Engineering in regards to engineering related issues including, but not limited to, design and project planning.
• Assists Maintenance in organizing, executing and improving the existing job order system which may involve job documentation preparation and scheduling
• Assists Tool and Die by providing solid models for the programming of CNC milling & the turning machines.

• Associates degree in Drafting or equivalent educational background with specialty course work involving CAD is required
• 5 years' experience creating CAD drawings in an Engineering Design and Manufacturing Engineering environment is required
• Strong experience using Solid Works, ProE, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office including updating, maintaining, operating and evaluating, is required
• Experience using typical measuring and test equipment (such as micro viewers and coordinate measuring machine) is preferred.
• Ability to fully understand and follow highly complex oral and written instructions
• Skills to operate basic office equipment like printers, computer terminals, copy machines and telephone systems
