About the role:
The candidate will be part of a highly motivated and talented pool of professional services organization, implementing complex business applications solutions across several lines of businesses within FIS. The candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of Oracle database administration - installation, testing, monitoring, tuning, security and access control, during the entire lifecycle of implementation of various business solutions. The candidate will act as technical liaison between FIS product development, business analysts, project management and client technical SMEs, in the area of Oracle database administration and support. Mid-level career role with individual contribution expected.

About the team:

LFI Banking Technology Services team is responsible for end-to-end support of technology platform for Modern Banking Platform (MBP) and Digital One (D1) applications, in Azure/Dev segment. Team provides infrastructure and DevOps services to client implementations, including end-to-end support for database platforms. The DBA team provisions and installs database servers, create and maintain application databases, deploys and upgrades application schemas, monitors, tunes, patches, upgrades, and provides any other database related services required, in support of the implementation projects during the entire life cycle of the project. The focus of the role is to provide application DBA support.

What you will be doing:

• Provision, install and configure base database SW (Oracle)
• Provide end-to-end support for monitoring, tuning, security and access control for the database layer
• Create application databases and schemas, deploy database configuration
• Deploy and maintain database packages thru the lifecycle of implementation project
• Requires more of a application DBA responsibilities than operational/production support DBA responsibilities
• Work with application developers/BAs/Testers to assist in analyzing data structure, and triaging data/schema related issues
• Develop database scripts, packages, tools, as required to support application development and testing
• End-to-end ownership of the health of databases under control
• Primary point of contact for database related queries from the project/client teams.

What you will need:

5-7 years of actual working, hands-on experience in below technology and skills:

• Strong DBA skills in managing Oracle databases.
• Application focus - role requires experience supporting application development/testing/implementations
• Strong SQL skills
• Extensive experience working with application schemas, data structure and data.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Extensive experience working in the area of database release management, version control, packaging and promotion of database scripts/artifacts consistently across various environments
• Working knowledge of CICD tools - Jenkins, Confluence, Bitbucket, Artifactory, JIRA and other Atlassian tools
• Knowledge of database deployment automation tools - Flyway, Liquibase or similar desired
• Basic shell scripting or other scripting skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
