Responsibilities:
• Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
• Install, maintain and administer computer networks and computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks.
• Perform routine network startup and shutdown procedures, and maintain control records.
• Ensure network performance.
• Add and remove network access.
• Maintain an inventory of parts for repair needs.
Description:
Seeking a Senior Scripting Automation Engineer that specializes in developing automated solutions that will assist in managing enterprise environments. This position will lead large to enterprise-wide scale projects including a wide range of OS related activities such as deployments, maintenance, reporting and inventory management. You will collaborate with infrastructure administrators on IT automation initiatives across multiple OS's and versions. Projects can range from reviewing new technologies to evaluating/establishing tools/products and providing input to other team members on how to set up these technologies and tools.
Develop automated frameworks that optimize resource utilization and improve overall product quality.
Scripting and Languages (Expect, FastAPI, PHP, Python, SQL, Perl, Bash)
Operating Systems (Solaris, Linux and Windows)
Developing automation solutions to better manage OS platforms.
Partner directly with the business and application teams to assess new requirements and determine how best to apply emerging technologies to meet those needs.
Shift: 8am - 5pm, some occasional night work, be part of on-call rotation.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree and/or 6 or more years of related work experience.
Scripting and Automation experience
Experience with Expect, FastAPI, PHP, Python, SQL, Perl, Bash.
Experience with Perl and Python debuggers.
Familiar with OS virtualization technologies such as Oracle Virtual Machine, Containers, ESXi, VMWare, etc.
Familiarity with IT Security audits and server compliance.
Strong knowledge of enterprise class system design and hardware.
Previous OS administration experience (Solaris, Linux and Windows).
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Java, Ruby, PowerShell and VBScript.
Coding recursive routines and complex regular expressions.
Oracle Service Management Facility (SMF) development experience.
Excellent technical/analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead and to make decisions.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of project management concepts.
Relevant certifications.
