Looking for a place to make a difference and spend your summer outside? Do you have a passion for summer camp, high adventure, crafts, outdoor skills, STEM or empowering girls, teens and young women then Camp Misty Mountain is for you! We have 1,000 wooded acres in the mountains of Northwest Ga area. We are a true camp complete with a lake for canoe, kayak, paddleboards, windsurfing; shooting sports; challenge course; miles of hiking trails; arts and crafts; large swimming pool and climate controlled cabins and dining hall.

During the summer we operate a premiere residential program for 2nd-12th graders. We are looking for dynamic young women to provide a top rate camping experience for your girls. All staff will live and work on camp starting the end of May until the beginning of August. Staff will be assigned a group 8-10 girls weekly that they are responsible for during group times and will then teach 5 activities of their interest during the day. In the evenings we will spend time with our friends around the campfire, or at a pool party, or show off our talents at the amphitheater. Staff can expect to have from Saturday at noon through Sunday at noon off each week. Staff applying should have a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls have a fantastic time while at camp and be 100% girl focused while in your care!

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for assigned campers on a daily basis and to assist with the entire unit duties as assigned.

Participate in programs and activities with campers giving adult guidance and leadership.

Interpret and administer personnel policies as well as Safety-Wise, ACA and Camp guidelines.

See that activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Safety-Wise and good judgment.

Use girl planning to help the girls plan and carry out the unit program.

Act as a camptivity leader in a variety of program areas. (i.e. weird science, drama, sports, archery, etc.)

Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behaviors, language, attitudes, and activities.

Help girls live and work together as a unit.

Facilitate communication, conflict resolution and problem solving within the unit.

Help girls develop individual responsibility.

Keep their supervisor informed of plans, problems and concerns pertinent to unit operation.

Be aware of the ongoing medical needs of campers.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Skills & Experience:

Good health and stamina necessary to live in the camp setting

Ability to make decisions and act wisely in an emergency

Understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of girls

Current certification in First Aid and community CPR

Preferred minimum age 18, High School graduate

Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation

Stamina to keep up w/ active children

Ability to traverse rough and uneven terrain

Ability to walk to and from activities (2-5 miles per day)

Ability to lift 25 pounds

Enthusiasm and a sense of adventure

Willing to help children learn and grow

Experience working with children

Stamina to live in an outdoor setting

Ability to motivate and coach children

Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check
