The Network Deployment Engineer will ensure the security, stability, and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services by planning, designing, developing, and troubleshooting local area networks (LANs) and wide-area networks (WANs) across the organization; to maintain our client's in-house IP telephony voice communication architecture and its associated network connections and component hardware; to configure and optimize VoIP/IP-PBX telephone systems and services; to manage appropriate customer and third-party relationships, and to monitor and maintain metrics and SLAs for all organizational IP telephony applications.

Requirements:
  • Near term, duties include assisting with a company-wide Cisco Meraki deployment.
  • Prior experience with Cisco Meraki is required
  • Experience with Cisco routing/switching equipment required
  • Cisco PRIME & ACS are a big plus
  • Firewall / Security experience or exposure is a big plus
  • Cisco certifications are nice to have but not required

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery as it relates to the network.
  • Support VoIP infrastructure and its associated software, including IP-PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, and interactive voice response.
  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Maintain network QoS to ensure effective delivery of converged services.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Collaborate with systems engineers/architects/admins for upgrades to operating systems, hardware, etc.
  • Ensure network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Monitor and test network performance and capacity, provide network performance statistics and reports and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
  • Define, develop, track, report, and maintain appropriate metrics
  • Define and apply appropriate management routines
  • Participate in managing all network security solutions.
  • Act as a point of escalation and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Integrate IP telephony systems and other systems with enterprise LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, and other Internet-based services and protocols.
  • Manage/ensure backup & recovery for network infrastructure devices/systems.
  • Assist with the installation planning and maintenance of network cabling, including MDF and IDF closets.
  • Conform to all safety and confidentiality rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • After hours rotational availability necessary.
  • Takes major roles in various ITS projects as needed.
  • Migrates and integrates acquired companies’ computing environments with our client's existing environment.
