Bella Mia is seeking an experienced, qualified Head Chef to organize the kitchen’s activities. We are looking to hire immediately. Candidates are expected to work 45-50 hours per week with 2-3 days off a week. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Applicants must have at least 3-5 years experience in a Management/ Leadership position and not only be able and willing to work in a high-volume environment, but also thrive under pressure.

Ideal candidates will be responsible for overseeing both food quality and personnel operations while training and motivating staffers to consistently meet customer demand. You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.

This involves providing adequate oversight in food preparation protocols including culinary and food safety training. It also involves taking a hands-on role in creating a culture that values and offers a level of customer service appropriate to exceptional service.

Responsibilities

Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities

Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings

Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the guests

Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages

Arrange for repairs when necessary

Remedy any problems or defects

Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff

Oversee the work of subordinates

Estimate staff’s workload and compensations

Maintain records of payroll and attendance

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers

Requirements

Proven experience as Head Chef

Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management

Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress

Outstanding communication and leadership skills

Remain up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes

Possess a good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS). Will train if not tech savvy.

Credentials in health and safety training

Degree in Culinary science or related certificate

Salary nego based on experience
