Job Description

The Director, Data & Analytics is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of data platforms, business intelligence and reporting systems and support of those systems. This position directs and manages IT plans, schedules, policies and programs for the organization's data and analytics systems, according to established company goals and objectives

What Would You Do?

  • Oversees the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company's long-term goals and provides direction and leadership to development teams.
  • Works directly with business leaders, leading cross-functional teams to analyze prioritized projects.
  • Partners with business and IT leaders on complex, large-scale business and technology transformations.
  • Leads management of strategic engagements with external consultants and key business stakeholders.
  • Contributes to the development of key insights and actionable strategies and tactics, based on market and competitive analysis.
  • Keeps current with trends and issues in the IT industry, including current technologies to advise, counsel, and educate executives and management on their competitive or financial impact.
  • Reviews current operating strategies and suggest improvements to deliver the desired return on investment.
  • Identifies and evaluates technology enablers to deliver business value through accelerated growth or operational efficiency.
  • Creates proposals that align distinct initiatives to business goals the Company can execute.
  • Develops business case evaluation and ongoing measurement of programs and projects.
  • Manages external vendor relationships and commercial arrangements.
  • Assists in the development, review, and compliance of IT policies and procedures including project approval process, signature authority policy, information security policies and processes, and disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Acts as an advocate for the organization's IT vision via regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, sales leaders, office managers and end-users.
  • Communicates to a wide variety of audiences and crafts powerful narratives around Company plans in order to inform and invest the audience.

Qualifications

  • Four year college degree, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. 9 to 10+ years related experience, 3+ years related management experience
  • 8+ years’ experience with data lakes, data pipelines, data warehouse, and data analytics. Experience with self-service and data visualization tools to drive actionable business insights.
  • Prior experience in designing real-time, streaming data analytics to enable omni-channel personalization and recommendations.
  • Experience managing, developing and analyzing financial reporting, budgeting and planning and business intelligence applications is a plus
  • Strong project management methodology background including schedule management, scope management, issue and risk management, change management, strategic planning and analysis and resource management.
