Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and 3 years of experience in construction industry
Minimum 2 years of managerial experience
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulations
Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.) Advanced proficiency in MS Excel Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
Well-organized with ability to prioritize
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Accounting software: Foundation or any other construction ERP systems
Professional certification (CPA, CMA, or PMP) is a plus, not required
The basic function of the Assistant Controller is to provide support in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the Controller. The individual will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. An effective assistant controller has good knowledge of accounting principles and must be an organized professional with a great eye for detail.
