Bikeadelic Hawaii is Waikikis premier bicycle rental and tour company. We believe that bicycling is the best way to experience Hawaii and are happy to share Aloha on Two Wheels with customers from around the world. We offer bicycle rentals and guided tours. Our bicycle fleet is as diverse as our customers, from hybrids to youth bikes to carbon road bikes to electric-assist cruisers. We have a full service-area to maintain our rental bicycles. We also offer repair service for the local riding community. We have a great location in Waikiki, the most popular tourist destination in Hawaii.
We are currently looking for a person who is passionate about bicycles and has excellent customer service skills to join our team. This is a part-time position, with opportunities to expand in the future. This is an important position in our business as we rely on positive interactions with guests on a daily basis. Offering high quality bicycle rentals and experiences are a core part of our mission, and having a strong team is key to that.
Responsibilities:
Greet customers in-store, on the phone, and via email, with aloha and excellent customer service
Check over, clean, and adjust bicycles following the Bikeadelic Hawaii standards
Prepare bikes for tours and rental reservations in a timely fashion
Keep the shop clean and presentable
Assist in attracting customers through concierge desks, internet promotions, and in-person conversations
Lead guided tours (optional)
Skills:
Customer service mindset
High ambition and self motivation
Ability to prioritize tasks depending on situation
Good team player
Strong time management skills
Ability to problem solve in fast paced situations
Comfortable using a computer for reservations and email responses
English proficiency (written & verbal)
Japanese language skills would be an asset (as well as other languages)
Bicycle Mechanic Skills:
We expect this position to have a mechanical aptitude, and be willing to learn (or already know) basic bicycle maintenance and repair. Training will be provided so you feel comfortable with basic repairs including:
Maintaining proper air pressure in a variety of bicycle tire types
Replacing a tube or worn tire
Cleaning and lubing a chain
Changing and installing pedals
Adjusting saddle height and installing customers saddle
Minor brake adjustments
Other tasks as needed
