The Global Facilities Operations Support (GFOS) Startup and Readiness team is a global HQ based team that supports our data centers from construction through operations and maintenance phase. Meta is seeking an experienced, outgoing, and self-motivated Startup and Readiness Engineer to join our Startup and Readiness team within Global Facilities Operations Support (GFOS). This role supports Data Center Facility Operations teams at our data centers on standardized process and procedural governance for ensuring maximum readiness of equipment and operating systems, developing and implementing asset management processes, assessment of day-to-day operations, ensuring proper vendor services support, and delivery of other key initiatives. This person will work at the leading edge of Facility Operations to prepare for turnover and initial operation of our growing fleet of Leased Facilities Data Centers. Managing stakeholders spread across time zones is a significant challenge and key to the success of our individual projects and overall program.Required Skills: Responsible for the Facility Operations Site Startup project plans for an assigned geographical region. To work closely with those site Facility Operations teams to support meeting all project milestones during construction.

Develop and maintain key programs supporting the overall Site Startup and Operational Readiness effort.

Coordination of Design package development and reviews (Organize meetings, Tracking Comments and Adjudication, Tracking RFIs, Site specific CD design reviews, expediting resolution with Engineer of Record).

Identify and correct gaps in existing processes or lack thereof related to starting up new Data Center facilities.

In support of maintenance plans and repair strategies, coordinate with logistics partners to ensure optimal provisioning of parts, spares, and consumables at all data centers to support continual readiness.

Provide scalable solutions for reliable asset management to include initial acceptance of owner and contractor furnished equipment and subsequent tracking of assemblies and subassemblies throughout the lifecycle of the equipment.

In collaboration with cross-functional data center teams, support efficient planning of lifecycle maintenance activities and projects that require equipment shutdowns, to minimize impact on redundancy and availability.

Interface and coordinate with internal organizations and stakeholders to include Data Center Design, Infrastructure Construction Management, Global Facility Operations Support, Data Center Facilities Engineering Team, Procurement, and Logistics teams to support driving day one readiness at turnover.

Ensure consistency and use of best practices across fleet in asset management including data management, parts and spares, BOM, maintenance and repair strategies.

Support and drive the development and improvement of applicable global standards for leased data centers.

Coordinate with the site teams to establish all required service contracts prior to handover.

Develop and approve processes, procedures, and reporting metrics that help drive successful turnover of new Data Centers.

Coordinate with the site Facility Operations teams to facilitate execution of the Construction/Facility Operations handover checklist. Verify all deficiencies are documented with temporary mitigations plans in place, and a roadmap exists outlining implementation of final corrective actions and closeout.

Support assessment of day-to-day facility operations, review of post incident reports, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans

Proficiency in all engineering fields to provide direction in driving issues to closure.

Support hiring and onboarding of Facility Operations personnel.

Influence cross-functional partner involvement at both the tactical and strategic level.

Travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%-50%).

Minimum Qualifications: B.A./B.S. degree in a technical/engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical or equivalent).

8+ years experience with construction and/or operations of mission critical facilities.

Experience in working with leased facilities and Build to Order facilities.

Stakeholder management experience - including managing multiple cross-functional partners simultaneously.

Experience with standard Data Center equipment to include: electrical distribution equipment from switchgear down to panelboards, VFDs, low voltage power and molded case circuit breakers, overhead IT busway, air handling units, water treatment equipment, controls and monitoring, and hot aisle containment accessories.

Experience leading small teams and sub-contractors.

Familiar with specifications, design and commissioning of MEP and Control systems used in critical facility applications: electrical switchgear, electrical SCADA systems, Smart Relays, Air Handling Units (CRAHs, AHUs, RTUs), Chiller Plants, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, building management systems (DDC, PLC systems).

Experience with effectively communicating risk versus benefit.

Track record of assertively driving projects to completion with minimal supervision .Experience in root cause analysis, project and program management.

Experience in integrated change management across a global organization.

Analytical, creative thinking, communications skills with proven experience to effectively distill and communicate complex details throughout all organizational levels.

Highly skilled in use of Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with collaboration software.

Preferred Qualifications: Formal project management training and experience with a PMP or relevant qualification.

Experience with commissioning of mission critical infrastructure.

Experience Quality assurance and quality controls experience.

Strong technical background, proven track record within an engineering discipline prior to moving into a project manager/project engineer function.

Experienced with Bluebeam Revu, BIM 360 Docs, and Procore.

Experienced with MS SharePoint, project management software (e.g. MS Project, P6, etc.), construction management tools, and data visualization software and tools.
