PROJECT MANAGEMENT POSITION OVERVIEW:

Wakelight Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced IT Program / Project Manager to lead a team of over 50 employees and sub-contractors on a large DoD services contract on Oahu. The successful candidate will work directly with our DoD client to ensure deliverables and performance requirements fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with the customer to ensure all aspects of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) are delivered and will hire new talent as needed to fulfill client needs.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Provides management/supervision, direction, administration, quality assurance, and leadership within the contractor’s team to their personnel for the execution of the PWS in support of our DoD customer.
  • Serves as the primary interface and point of contact with the Government Contracting Officers Representative (COR).
  • Provides on-site and situational remote project management support and oversight of all activities performed by contractor personnel and subcontractors to ensure all IT services satisfy the requirements identified in the PWS.
  • Facilitates communications between the Government Technical Points of Contact (TPOC’s) and the contractor’s team along with all activities necessary to ensure the accomplishment of timely and effective support, performed in accordance with the requirements contained in this PWS.
  • Utilize industry best-practices and proven methodologies to assure that all activities are identified, documented, and tracked.
  • Develop and provide weekly personnel status reports listing contractor personnel gains, losses, start dates, departure dates, and staffing status to include security clearance updates, upcoming leave, etc.
  • Develop and provide a Monthly Status Report to the COR, and TPOCs summarizing, by task area, the management and technical work conducted during the month.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Accomplishes information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe and secure work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed

PROJECT MANAGEMENT QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or IT related field
  • 5-8 years of progressive project management and related experience managing a large team
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) knowledge a plus
  • Excellent client-facing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail, analytical and multitasking skills
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to attain and hold a DoD Clearance
