Position Title: Junior Systems Administrator/IT Support

Work Location: Oahu, HI

Job Summary:

KaiHonua, LLC is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator/IT Support candidate to provide operations assistance support to the Server division. The candidate shall perform the following engineering and technical services in performance of systems/network duties - engineering, integration, security, training, prototype development, applications, test, demonstration and exercise requirements. The candidate will provide the following:



  • Planning and administrative support to knowledge/information management activities for various innovation and experimentation efforts associated with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) mission areas

  • Server support to cross-functional and cross-agency teams of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) associated with innovative technology integration, experimentation activities, military exercises, critical capabilities, laboratories, and centers of excellence to address warfighter mission needs in line with USINDOPACOM Commander and Naval Information Warfare Center - Pacific (NIWC-PAC)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide logistical support in the development and integration of classified and unclassified Local Area Networks/Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN) infrastructure.

  • Perform and provide logistical support and network communication configuration (such as routers, switches, hubs, etc.); network server and workstation configuration; infrastructure equipment, to include a high bandwidth Internet connection to support software downloads of patches, updates, and virus definition files; computer room/network center reconfiguration; satellite communications equipment, wireless network configuration; electrical configuration; network infrastructure; communications equipment (such as telephones, secured communication devices, satellite equipment, etc.) and related services.

  • Participate in working groups, meetings, technical discussions, issues resolution and briefings in order to increase knowledge, cross fertilization, and understanding of technical advances being researched, developed, and demonstrated

  • Provide logistical support to services necessary to manage, maintain and operate designated systems and assist systems users.

  • Diagnose problems and recommend solutions, when necessary

  • Support planning, processing, and tracking of procurement and funding documents among the community of interest and helping to maintain related archives

  • Collaborative management of various processes and procedures among a dynamic mix of internal/external stakeholders with shared but sometimes conflicting equities

  • Synchronize planning, administration, staffing and knowledge management activities among higher headquarters staff to enable Front Office management activities

  • Utilize various supporting IT platforms to enable operational activities, such as Shared Drive, web-based, and other NIPR/SIPR platforms

  • Coordinate and collaborate among the J81 Front Office and various SMEs among HQ USINDOPACOM and NIWC-PAC Staff along with several other external agencies, such as the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Staff, Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO), National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC), Military Service Regional HQs in the Pacific, and Other Government Agencies

  • Facilitate organizational efforts to manage the resources, flow of information, funding, and documentation across a broad range of complex contract mechanisms

  • Adherence to appropriate Organizational/Personal Conflict of Interest firewall procedures, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Financial Management Regulations, and related USINDOPACOM and United States Navy policies/procedures

  • Support government personnel to determine the level of requirement and financial forecasting and tracking required for associated operational efforts for USINDOPACOM, NIWC-PAC and their mission partners, as well as gather and process requisite documentation among the various stakeholders as required

  • Work within a Joint Military Service environment, maintain a SECRET Clearance, and be willing to sign/adhere to applicable Non-Disclosure Agreements

  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications and Education:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred but not required.

  • Experience: 1-2 years

  • Must be a US citizen


Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.

Security Clearance

Position may require a DoD security clearance.
