Individuals in this role are expected to be comfortable working as a research scientist, software engineer, and data analyst, and have a passion for solving real-world problems end-to-end through applied research and modeling. An ideal candidate will have a strong research background in causal inference or statistical data privacy, with substantial experience applying modern machine learning and statistics.Required Skills: Improve data-driven decision making through causal inference and statistical data privacy
Research and develop novel causal inference or statistical data privacy methodologies
Quickly learn and deploy appropriate data science tools, with tasks possibly including experimental design and analysis, optimization, privacy-preserving data disclosure, and machine learning
Perform and communicate quantitative analysis and research in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
Minimum Qualifications: Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or related fields
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Scientific programming skills in Python
End-to-end experience assembling, manipulating, and analyzing data (including data extraction, cleaning, visualization, presentation, etc.) in R and/or Python
Research experience and publications in at least one of the following areas: causal inference, data privacy, statistics, and machine learning
Experience with state-of-the-art practices and methodologies in causal inference or data privacy such as causal machine learning, graphical models, differential privacy, or synthetic data generation
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with modern machine learning libraries such as PyTorch
