Trump International Hotel Waikiki, Oahu's only Forbes 5-Star luxury hotel is interviewing for the position of Full-Time Cook II.
Position Responsibilities:
The Cook II assists with the preparation, production and presentation of food items in a friendly, enthusiastic, professional and timely manner
REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma required/ Degree in Culinary Arts desired
Minimum 2 years of experience in culinary field required
Thorough working knowledge of hot and cold food preparation
Working knowledge of positions on the cooking line and prep kitchen
Knowledge of proper usage and handling of knives and various kitchen machinery to include slicers, choppers, grinders, mixers, fryers and other kitchen-related equipment
Able to demonstrate culinary techniques, ie: cutting, cooking principles, plate presentation, safety and sanitation practices
Able to handle knives, pots, platters or other display items as well as grasp, lift and carry same from shelves and otherwise transport up to 50 pounds to every area of the kitchen
Able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds occasionally
Able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to work and communicate a frequently noisy environment
Must be available to work any day/shift/hours. Flexible and long hours sometimes required, including evenings, weekends and holidays
Ability to handle requests in a timely manner
Ability to multi-task and work calmly and efficiently in a stressful environment
Able to walk quickly and work in a standing position and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature generally is moderate; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10F) and kitchens (+110F) possible for one hour or more
Must possess TB clearance and any and all other safety and compliance certifications and clearances as required
All other duties as assigned or requested
