53 By the Sea is now accepting resumes for the full time Lead Pastry Cook position we have open. We are looking for someone who has previous experience as a lead pastry cook. This person will need to be able to prepare different pastries, desserts, and cakes for the daily operation of the restaurant and banquet facilities. We would also like this person to be creative and come up with new menu ideas. Our restaurant is a 7-day operation. Full time cooks are expected to be available during weekends and available for all shifts (morning, mid, and/or swing).
Primary Responsibilities for our pastry line cooks are (but not limited to):
Create and prepare desserts in accordance with the existing menu
Items such as:
-Anglaise sauce
-Custards
-Mousses
-Creme Brulee
Assemble, ice, and decorate wedding cakes.
Be creative and assist in developing new desserts
Keeping your work area organized and clean while working.
Assist in the kitchen, where needed.
Ensure desserts comes out in high quality and in a timely fashion.
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
Follow opening and closing procedures/duties.
Other duties as assigned by management
Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Culinary school certificate or degree with emphasis on pastry preferred but not required
3-5 years experience in fast-paced, high-end kitchen
Excellent communications skills
