With an epic ocean front location in the heart of historic downtown, Lahaina Yacht Club has operated as a private club, bar and restaurant for over 50 years. A recent revitalization plan for the club is driving new membership growth, a focus on Aloha, and increased events. As part of this plan, we are seeking a General Manager with strong front of house energy to join our âOhana. A passion for great food and fun is a must.
Job Duties Include:
Working with club leadership to establish restaurant business plan by surveying members; identifying and evaluating competitors; and defining the optimal member experience.
Drawing members to the club to attend more frequently by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, and direct member communication.
Meeting restaurant financial objectives by establishing financial controls, implementing plans, initiating corrective actions when things go wrong; and monitoring financial success.
Managing back office staff to control accounting, payroll, and banking relationships
Working directly with club operations staff and club members for programs and events held in and around the club.
Controlling purchases and inventory by negotiating prices and contracts; developing preferred supplier lists; reviewing and evaluating usage reports; analyzing variances; taking corrective actions.
Maintaining a positive, productive staff that delivers excellent service by preparing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing patron-service standards; and implementing system improvements.
Maintaining member satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; and building relationships with club members.
Accomplishing restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.
Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Accomplisheing club goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Key Qualifications
Proven leader and achiever that has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Two or more years of experience of management in a full-service restaurant.
Excellent supervisory, communication, and guest service skills are required.
Computer literate in MS Office Applications.
