We are currently hiring for an Assistant General Manager!

Honolulu Coffee is the first premiere farm to cup coffee on the islands. We are looking to expand our talented team of coffee professionals at our Hyatt Kaanapali Café by adding an Assistant General Manager (AGM) role. Honolulu coffee has been roasting high-quality local coffee since 1992, when Hawaii's coffee scene was nearly non-existent. Due to our dedication to coffee roasting and superior barista quality we have been perfecting our craft while focused on continual growth and improvement for each of our employees. We are now an internationally known brand, with locations on Oahu , Hawaii Island, Maui, Guam and Japan. We passionately serve coffee from our farm in Kona at all of our locations and strive to educate our guests and employees on our mission to be recognized as the worlds premier farm to cup coffee company.

Position Summary:

To assist the retail store General Manager (GM) with all aspects of daily store operations through direct contribution and delegation. The AGM will supervise the retail store staff and demonstrate Honolulu Coffees guiding principles of superior guest service combined with renowned drink & food quality while utilizing tools and team members to cultivate a well maintained, welcoming environment.

Essential Functions and qualifications

Uses hand on, side-by-side approach to train and develop all store personnel in accordance with Honolulu Coffee training standards. Assess individual team performance on a daily basis and coaches each team member utilizing constructive feedback and positive reinforcement. Communicates team developmental needs to GM.

Takes initiative by maintaining a constant observation of overall store operations and sales performance to proactively recognize areas of improvement, anticipate needs and achieve store performance goals.

Takes full ownership of Café and is always positive and solution oriented when addressing issues.

Ability to lead, prioritize and delegate while working in a fast paced environment. Time management, a calm yet upbeat temperament and multi-tasking skills are essential.

Enthusiastically share your knowledge and passion of coffee with others and thrive in helping groups of others learn. A fantastic teacher who loves coaching others and is patient and adaptive in helping learners of different styles and backgrounds succeed

Communicates pertinent information to all store team members, promoting efficient store operations. Maintains clear and concise communication with GM. Strong oral and written communication and presentational skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

High level of analytical and problem solving abilities. General computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office program

What we offer

Merit based Salary: $40,000-$45,000 Pending education and experience retail management and specialty coffee.
