CASHIER WANTED for BAKE SHOP (North Shore)
We are seeking an efficient and enthusiastic cashier with a positive attitude, and at least one year of previous experience in cash management and customer service. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic, and a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail. The candidate must be punctual, honest, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service.
Employment type: part-time
Starting pay begins from $10.50-$11.00/hr with periodic incremental pay increases.
Sizeable tips and health benefits included.
Schedule will generally be Monday-Friday, 12:00pm-5:30pm (may be subject to change).
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
-Greeting customers courteously and tending to their needs.
-Taking orders both in person and over the phone.
-Ensure that prices and quantities are accurate.
-Accurately open and close cash drawer, and reporting counts to management.
-Accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries.
-Keep front of shop clean and sanitary .
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Welcoming customers, answering their questions, and providing advice or recommendations.
-Operating cash registers, phones, and other electronics.
-Accurately verifying and reporting cash drawer counts at beginning and ending of shift.
-Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate, processing refunds .
-Following store procedures regarding discounts, gift cards, and refund/exchange policies.
-Taking phone orders and payment accurately and securely.
-Making change when needed, and/or reporting change needed to lead cashier.
-Properly packaging and bagging products
-Maintaining a clean and sanitary work place
REQUIREMENTS
-One year experience in cash handling and customer service.
-Neat, organized, and have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
-Ability to accurately handle transactions responsibly.
-High level of energy/enthusiasm with strong customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
-Basic math and computer skills.
-Must adhere to health and safety regulations.
-Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
