Did you know that emergency contraceptive pills ("morning after pills") may not work as well for heavier-weight women?
The Hawaii Women's Health Research Center is conducting a research study to expand emergency contraceptive options for women weighing over 176 lbs.
You may be eligible to participate if you:
-Weigh more than 176 lbs
-Need emergency contraception (EC) because you had unprotected sex or condom breakage in the past 72 hours
-Do not want a copper IUD for EC
Participants will come to our clinic in Honolulu for one study visit. There will also be two or three follow-up phone calls.
Eligible participants may be compensated up to $275 for their participation in this study.
