We are looking for a motivated, independent person to deliver our monthly newspaper throughout the island and do a monthly bulk mailing. The delivery takes three full days per month, additional quick deliveries to two locations on the Eastside in weeks when there are no regular deliveries, plus about four hours to do our monthly bulk mailing.
You will use the company car to deliver the newspaper, and we will pay for the gas and all Post Office fees.
The work involves a lot of driving, and it also includes a lot of moderate lifting several times a day. This is work for a physically fit person.
Our newspaper is usually distributed on the first Wednesday of the month, but sometimes on the second Wednesday. When a new issue arrives, it takes two full days of work to deliver the newspaper to about 90 stands from Kekaha to Hanalei. You will also pick up the old issue and recycle it in the proper locations.
Two weeks after the initial delivery, you will replenish select stands around the island. Since you will not revisit all stands, and there are no old issues to recycle, this takes less time than the initial delivery, and you should be able to cover Kekaha to Hanalei in about a full day of work.
Two stands on the Eastside are in very high traffic locations, and need to be replenished weekly. Those stands are in two supermarkets.
The work also includes making sure our stands are clean and presentable. You will need to let us know if the stands need repair or replacement. In any case, you will be responsible for taking the stands to get repaired. If you can repair the stands yourself, tell us how much you would charge and we can work out a deal.
You will be responsible for making sure the company car is clean, including exterior and interior. You can wash the car in the automated car wash, and we'll pay for it. You will also need to let us know when car repairs or maintenance are needed, and we will schedule and pay for the repairs and/or maintenance.
We do bulk mailing monthly at the Kapaa Post Office. The work consists on printing the mailing labels, labeling about 300 newspapers, weighing the newspapers on a digital scale, filling up a 2-page Post Office manifest, and getting everything to Kapaa Post Office on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The pay is $375 for all the work (deliveries and bulk mailing) in a 4-week month, or $400 in a 5-week month (months with five Wednesdays).
Im looking for someone to train Wednesday and Thursday, and start working two weeks after that. The pay for the first month, which includes training, is $200. After that, you will get full pay.
