Kokua Support Services (KSS)is a nonprofit organization in the State of Hawaii that operates one of the largest representative payee (rp)/federal fiduciary (ff) programs also known as the Benefits Management Company in the state. The KSS RP/FF program purpose is to assist individuals with managing their social security and/or veterans benefits who are unable to do so. We are a service oriented organization assisting the mentally ill and substance abuse populations of Hawaii.

We are looking for a detailed, action-oriented, autonomous, and intelligent individual to join our team!

NOW HIRING FULL TIME! Must be available 8 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday.

REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a Associates degree in psychology, social work, sociology, human services etc. At least 12 months of full time equivalent experience (employment or volunteer) with any Specialized Population, such as the developmentally disabled or the mentally ill. The ideal candidate has worked with persons with mental/psychiatric/behavioral issues. Must know basic math with the ability to learn basic accounting and money management tasks. Able to work and thrive in a fast pace, multi-tasking environment.

POSITION DETAILS: The Benefit Accounts Manager works with individuals who are receiving representative payee services currently, or for the first time through the KSS referral process, receives, reviews, and coordinates new rep payee referrals and clients, maintains effective communication with client, case managers, and any other entities involved in the clients financial situation, provide documentation, policy implementation, and regular reviews of the client current status with the Social Security Administration, establishes, maintains, and reviews/changes budgets as living arrangement and transitions occur, process monthly, weekly, and biweekly request and disbursement. Interface with client, answer phones, provide overall case management coordination for rep payee clients. Basic clerical skills are required, i.e. copying, basic computer skills, faxing, filing, phone answering. etc. This position requires the ability to perform appointments one to two times a month at the Honolulu Social Security Office. Works closely with the Operations Director and Office/Compliance Manager.

COMPENSATION is based on experience and knowledge with ranges for $25,000.00 to $35,000.00. Full medical and dental benefits offered.
