Materials specialistsÂmake sure the rightÂmaterialÂis used for the rightÂjobÂand may be involved in developing,ÂselectingÂor evaluatingÂmaterialsÂfor specialistÂuses. They evaluate and understand the correct materials needed for the reconstruction of each unit, as individually and in the case of multiple units in a building, a whole. Specifically, the grade, quantity, and cost of the materials needed for each job. As well as, what each vendor supplies. Material specialists work to develop new and maintain vendor/supplier contacts throughout the area to ensure a variety of materials are available for outlier cases, and the special needs of customers. They will make initial contact with customers concerning the appropriate materials necessary for the reconstruction of their unit. This includes providing continuous support to the customer (and project manager(s)); guiding them through the selection process until the reconstruction is complete, and/or the materials have been selected. Ensuring that the selected materials meet budget.
