Job Summary:
The Security Manager will oversee Security staff and facility security to protect all association assets.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
1. Interview, hire, & train security staff
2. Manage, lead, supervise, coach, and evaluate performance of security staff
3. Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of all security staff
4. Oversees Administrative tasks related to overall Security Department operations
5. Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
6. Performs other related duties as assigned by Management
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Take proactive steps to provide a safe and secure environment to staff and visitors
2. Conduct regular patrol and security inspections throughout property
3. Use of IT systems and software for access control, site patrolling, emergency response, report generating, incident investigation, Daily Activity Reports (DAR’s), and all other standard Security duties
4. First responder in the event of emergencies
5. Keep Management informed of any property safety and security issues
6. Report non-security related issues to appropriate departments to ensure a smooth property operation
7. Monitor and enforce property rules, inform violators of policies and procedures, and manage trespassers
8. Follow Security Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) to complete tasks
9. Monitor and manage entry/exit to property, parking areas, and traffic control as needed
10. Work with/assist law enforcement and emergency personnel to manage property issues and emergencies as needed
11. Help to ensure safety and security in a hospitality environment
12. Tasks related to Security and Loss Prevention as assigned by upper management
Required Skills/Abilities/Qualifications:
1. Extensive knowledge of security protocol and procedures
2. Excellent management and supervisory skills
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
4. Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures
5. Ability to work with confidential and classified information
6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
7. Familiarity with Security Systems and Software
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
2. At least five years of related security experience preferred
3. Must have a guard card and CPR, First Aid, & AED Certified
Physical Requirements:
1. Able to lift 25 pounds at a time
2. Sitting at a desk and computer for a prolonged period to complete Administrative tasks
3. Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct patrols, inspections, and plan security procedures
