Job Summary:
Kalapana Tropicals is a wholesale/retail nursery that grows a wide variety of orchid species. We are orchid horticulturists who specialize in a huge array of orchids genus and varieties for export as live, blooming orchids plants across the globe.
We are looking for a full-time nursery worker to join our growing team!
Job duties include but not limited to:
Harvesting plants & building orders
Packaging/preparing plants for shipments
Supervising shipping floor in specifications for FedEx, UPS & US Mail
Relocating plants & organizing farm for optimal workflow
Work hand in hand with sales manager for marketing/brainstorming ideas
Become proficient in customer database
Willing to learn and know orchid crop names and locations throughout nursery
Have basic skills in general nursery work
Hours are Monday to Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm
Competitive wages depending on experience. We are looking for someone who is eager to work and learn!
Skills we are seeking:
High School diploma or equivalent required
Higher education degree preferred (Associates or Bachelors degree in agriculture/horticulture/business management or marketing/etc) OR 3 to 5 years of sales/managerial experience
Experience in a nursery/greenhouse environment is preferred but not required (knowledge and experience in the wholesale orchid industry is a bonus but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate!)
Decision making/problem solving abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service and leadership qualities
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Person with strong work ethic, is detail-oriented, and has time management skills
Ability to lift 50lbs and stand on feet for extended periods of time
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Must be able to pass drug test
