Local Electrical Contractor is looking to add an Electrical Estimator/ Jr Project Manager to our existing estimating team. The Electrical Estimator/ Jr. Project Manager is an integral part of the electrical construction process. This position is responsible for accurate electrical estimates to insure competitiveness, profitability and growth on various commercial and retail projects of all sizes, including ground up, major remodels, tenant improvement and nationwide roll-out projects. Applicant needs to be self starter, with a focus and commitment to excellence. A Commercial Electrical Construction background is essential for this position, someone who came up in the ranks and understands the electrical trade ( i.e.; electrician turned estimator would be ideal). Someone with a strong Retail and/or Grocery Store construction/electrical background preferred. This individual will also assist in the planning of our commercial service projects and oversee the progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Essential Job Duties:
Preparation of complete labor and material estimates based on plans & job walks
Preparation of bid documents, the development of clear written proposals and correspondence
Close coordination with fellow estimators, CAD designed, Sr. Project Manager & Owners
Client relations
Will assist in coordination of scheduling service electricians.
Will assist in duties such as work orders, preventative maintenance activities, with minimal supervision consistent with company policies and procedures and adhere to the direction of upper management.
Complete documentation and necessary paperwork in a timely, accurate and complete manner to document and track service department activities
Coordinate and direct service electricians
Communicate all safety hazards, equipment, customer concerns and employee concerns to supervisor
Review the work progress on daily basis
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
Respond quickly to emergency situations during work hours and on-call coverage
Maintain high levels of customer service for service electricians, vendors and associates
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
10+ years as an Electrical Estimator/Project Manager
Experience with commercial/retail/big box/grocery store Construction Project estimates
Depth of knowledge with a wide variety electrical materials and methods of installation
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work independently as well as part of the team
Estimating Software experience a plus
Read and understand civil, architectural, structural, etc. plans and specifications as they relate to the electrical work.
Coordinates and attends project hand off meetings
Knowledge of electrical NEC and local codes
Computer literate in common MS Word and Excel
