Using innovative thinking, state-of-the-art facilities and robust scientific methodology we collaborate to discover the next medical breakthrough.Job Description:The PCD Outsourcing group is looking for an Associate Director of Sourcing Operations to lead a small team of sourcing ops SMEs in facilitating the operational aspects of third-party sourcing. The associate director is responsible for the tracking and forecasting of the PCD outsourcing budget, providing periodic budget updates to stakeholders, initiating and updating purchase orders based on Statement Of Work (SOW) documents, collaborating with Outsourcing groups, Global Procurement, Finance and functional area stakeholders to create and maintain contracts needed to enable third-party sourcing, external collaborations/consortia and specialty ordering. It will be critical for this individual to collaborate closely with these cross-functional stakeholders and other important cross-functional teams. We are looking for someone with the proven ability to effectively communicate while managing multiple projects simultaneously, and the ability to manage the team.The Associate Director will report to the head of the PCD Outsourcing organization. The successful candidate is expected to perform job duties independently with minimal supervision, and mentor others to develop similar capabilities, including:Oversight for all aspects of financial sourcing operations to support Preclinical Development, including tracking and forecasting outsourcing spend, providing periodic updates to stakeholders, initiating and updating purchase orders, and ensuring payment is made for completed work.

Management of the Sourcing Operations staff, including career development, coaching, objective-setting and performance management

Act as the PCD SAP/Ariba subject matter expert and assist colleagues in troubleshooting purchase order issues; partner with GP and finance colleagues to facilitate timely issue resolution

Collaborating effectively with team members, functional group areas, support functions, and partner functions to facilitate project delivery

Leveraging relationships and networks to improve and enhance team dynamics; proactively identifying and removing obstacles to drive business results

Qualifications:Education :BS/BA degree in relevant area (Biological / Chemical sciences, or equivalent) with 5+ years relevant experience

Required :Experience in providing financial operations support for outsourcing pharmaceutical research.

Budgeting and Finance experience

Experience working with external partners in collaboration or outsourcing management

Knowledgeable in drug discovery and development.

Must possess strong communication, project management, interpersonal and computer skills.

Strong attention to detail

Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast paced, highly matrixed environment

Able to work efficiently with colleagues across geographical areas via remote communication means

Preferred :Process improvement experience

Experience with Ariba and/or SAP
