DescriptionPayroll Support Specialist Open for Recruitment: September 10, 2019 - September 24, 2019Salary Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Key Responsibilities Employee works directly under the Support Services Bureau Chief. Responsible for processing bi-weekly, university and judicial, personnel and position control actions for the State of Idaho. Answers and directs help desk calls from state agencies, employees and the public. Maintain accuracy of the personnel and payroll systems.Example of Duties

Manage workflow to ensure all personnel and position control transactions are processed accurately and timely.

Provide assistance and instruction to agencies in completing payroll actions, as well as identifying and providing guidance in correcting errors.

Provide assistance and instruction to agencies in completing position control actions, as well as identifying and providing guidance in correcting errors.

Research personnel records to resolve discrepancies and make corrections, including priority updates to the system, as needed.

Assist and instruct agencies on web applications such as IPOPS, I-time, IBIS, and Online Reporting, including assisting employees with self-service applications.

Work cooperatively with Payroll Support Analysts to submit EIS jobs and process/review various data entry.

Make timely decisions and communicate appropriately to bureau chief, and administrator when necessary.

Monitor and manage the DSP Help Desk email.

Share responsibility of month end and fiscal year end balancing.

Share responsibility for verifying accurate and complete documentation in internal and external user manuals.

Assist in DSP training course work development and assist with training classes, as needed

Assist new DSP staff on internal and external processes

Collaborate with other control agencies, such as Division of Human Resources and Division of Financial Management, as needed.

Be sensitive of confidential information and privacy while providing customer service.

Additional Functions

Contributes to the positive performance of the payroll division and the office

Demonstrates timely and consistent attendance.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess prior experience and knowledge of I-Time, IPOPS and IBIS

Good knowledge of the Employee Information System, federal law and state statutes relating to wages and benefits, DHR rules, and other agency requirements that pertain to HR/payroll processing.

Keep a strong sense of customer service and professionalism, even in a sometimes-stressful environment.

Should be able to research, interpret and apply regulations and laws.

Must be able to meet deadlines while being interrupted and to adapt to constantly changing situations.

Should possess good organizational, problem solving and prioritizing skills.

Must be able to complete assigned tasks individually, as well as work cooperatively as a team to complete projects.

Should be consistent, thorough and accurate in the performance of job duties.

Must maintain a consistent and reliable attendance throughout the regularly scheduled workweek.
