If so, then we would love to hear from you for this position that is 50% Sr Hardware Engineering and 50% Sr Data Science Engineering.We are seeking a motivated engineer who can leverage data analytics skills to drive improvements in manufacturing quality and customer experience associated with memory (DRAM/DIMMs) and storage (SSD/HDD) technology used in Cloud Hardware Manufacturing Infrastructure Division. Your work will leverage the learning/innovation around solving the issues of today and then collaborating with vendors and internal teams to ensure the hardware of tomorrow will not have those same deficiencies. Your work will span the entire E2E lifecycle from understanding new technology coming to driving down hardware faults found in active datacenters running around the world today.Responsibilities Work with internal Azure service stakeholders and external suppliers on integration and optimization of memory (DRAM/DIMMS) and/or storage (SSD/HDD) devices in our datacenters. Applicants background will dictate if they focus more on memory or SSD/HDDs. Collaborate with multiple internal and external technology partners to help shape next generation memory and/or SSD, HDD technology innovation and decisions. Help define internal test, validation, and qualification plans of memory and/or storage devices to meet all Microsoft requirements. Use data extraction, analytics, and multi-variable regressions to identify gaps and opportunities that lead to an improved customer experience in Azure through root cause identification of memory and storage faults. Create dashboards and models based on data analysis to help identify, communicate, and drive solutions across the matrixed organization of CSI manufacturing, engineering, quality, & program managers. Help define business metrics, build analytics reports, and communicate progress/status on initiatives to internal teams and management.QualificationsBasic Qualifictaions: BS in Engineering or relevant field. 6+ years of experience working in device development or integration of memory or storage devices. 3+ years of experience data mining large data bases and communicating findings and tradeoffs to technical teams and management. 3+ years of experience leading technical teams and/or driving cross departmental initiatives.Preferred Qualifications: MS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data-Science 10+ years of experience working as a design, applications, manufacturing, test, quality, or product engineer role(s) responsible for memory or storage devices. (DRAM/NVM, DIMMs, SSD, HDD) Solid understanding ofprobability & statistics and using the data to drive decisions. Ability to lead collaborative technical projects from NPI through sustaining engineering. Collaborative mind-set & team player but able to work independently and use sound judgement and data to drive decisions.o Familiarity with more than one type of memory and/or storage device a plus Extensive experience in scripting and large data-base queries/analytics (SQL, Python, C, Java…) and creating dashboards to communicate findings and drive solutions.o Familiarity with Power BI a plus Experience with machine learning and/or data mining theory and algorithms. Confident, takes ownership, willingness to “do what it takes” to get the job done with proven experience leading complex programs/initiatives to successful completion. Drive through ambiguity, self-motivated and thrives on minimal supervision. Sound judgment, decision-making skills, and ability to work under deadline pressure in a dynamic and high paced environment. Strong written and oral communication skills with experience providing project status to line and senior management.Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
