We make our unique glazes, fillings, creams and crumbs in-house - with ingredients you can pronounce. OVERVIEW

Our Bakers are responsible for the production of all donut varieties (cutting, proofing, frying dough) to Guru quality and efficiency standards. The Bakers lead and manage dough/batter production, frying donuts, oversee product quality control, and assist the Pastry Chef with general oversight of the kitchen facilities and training.

WHAT GURU NEEDS

We are looking for a Baker who is confident in their ability to work with multiple types of dough (yeast, cake, etc.) through the mixing, cutting, proofing and frying processes. We need a Baker who is detail oriented, enjoys working on a collaborative team, is passionate about creating the highest quality products and wants opportunities to learn, grow and build their skills/career with Guru!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the processes of baking donuts including overall quality control, including size and shape for consistency.

Thorough understanding of different dough types (yeast, cake, etc) and relaxing, sheeting, cutting, proofing and frying the dough

Communicate with team members, including Pastry Chef, about production numbers and product quality throughout the day

Assist with the management of daily production schedules in coordination with Retail Manager(s) and Pastry Chef.

Ability to cross-train on all of the kitchen roles (Baker, Fryer, Glazer) to continually improve production processes and efficiencies.

Maintain kitchen sanitation standards, leading others by example to perform daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.

Actively participate with Pastry Chef in the development of new products and improvements to existing products/processes.

Willingness to work at night/early morning hours, with baking/frying production starting as early as 12am

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Prior baking, pastry or kitchen experience

Must be detail oriented

Excellent communicator and ability to lead by example is a must to support the team

Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently, being proactive, and solving problems as they arise.

Perform general physical activities with speed and efficiency that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials and objects.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Full-time position

Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more and be on your feet most of the work day.

Probably a lot of other things that we didn’t put in here - things always come up that will be new to you and probably to us.

Must be willing to work overnight shifts
