The Idaho Center for Reproductive Medicine has an immediate job opening for a full-time Medical Assistant. Applicants must be team-oriented, enjoy working in a rewarding and often fast-paced environment, and willing to work weekends (1/month, 2-4 hours typical day) as a portion of regular hours. Weekday schedule of Tuesday-Friday, 7:30am-6pm.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The ICRM Medical Assistant will help patients by performing clinical and educational procedures and routines to ensure smooth and successful operation of the practice.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist ICRM physician with new patient intakes and in-office surgical procedures
- Serve as right hand personĀ to physician, keeping on schedule and ensuring effective patient flow
- Instruct patients on treatment protocols
- Perform medication mixing and administration for patients
- Order patient medication using online ordering portal
- Inventory and order all exam room supplies; stock all exam/procedure rooms; verify receipt of all supply orders
- Clean instruments from procedures; clean speculums on assigned day(s)
- Use autoclave for sterilization of equipment
- Assist clinical team in patient phone calls and overall care
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy clinical environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
- Utilize EMR system for thorough documentation of all patient results and points of contact to maintain a complete medical record
- Effectively communicate with insurance companies and pharmacies regarding patient treatment and medications when necessary
- Consistently maintains professionalism and positive attitude
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES (PREFERRED):
- 3+ years of MA experience
- Familiarity with computer programs/EMR systems required
- Strong ability to prioritize responsibilities and be highly efficient with time
- Bilingual skill(s) a plus (especially Spanish)
- Ability to teach/instruct to wide variety of levels of patient understanding
- Self-motivated
