The UQC Energy Division is a diversified department operating three bulk fuel and LP plants, transport fuel and propane fleet, bulk fuel and propane fleet, and heavy haul trucking capabilities.

Summary:

Qualified and awarded candidate will operate a tractor and trailer to deliver petroleum products to facilities owned by United Quality and end users throughout the region. This qualified candidate will be responsible for the proper and efficient completion of assigned duties and operation of his or her vehicle, within Company policy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Loads and unload tanker with petroleum products adhering to all company and Governmental regulations and image standards.

Operate semi-truck with one or two trailers according to company policies and state/federal laws.

Transports load over company determined route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Chocks rear wheels of truck and trailer before any unloading takes place. Removes chocks before driving away from delivery.

Completes and transmits all paperwork in compliance with established Company procedures.

Maintains vehicle cleanliness and replaces gaskets, nozzles and other related articles as necessary.

Performs safety inspections on trucks, equipment and/or facilities as required by company policy; uphold all company safety standards.

Maintains miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, fuel, tires and tank related items daily.

Reports any equipment malfunctions and/or concerns to direct supervisor.

Knowledge of, and the ability to use loading arms and card readers at rack facilities, use auxiliary pumps for loading and unloading of vehicle and use spill kits and fire extinguisher.

Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

General Responsibilities:

Perform specific tasks as assigned by dispatch.

Give all guests prompt and courteous service and use tact and diplomacy in dealing with customers, always.

Promote and support company image standards.

Adhere to all city, county, state and federal regulations.

Follow the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with direct supervisor.

Ensure that dispatch is made aware of any operating discrepancies immediately.

Properly posts and verifies all hours worked daily.

Work in a safe manner according to laws, company safety manual, and report all accidents or spills immediately.

Meet performance expectations.

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, the awarded candidate must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This position requires 5-6 days per week, including Sunday, and an average of 60 hours per week; sometimes more, sometimes less depending on demand.

Specialized Requirements: A valid Class A Commercial Driver's license with hazardous material and tanker endorsement is required along with a current MVR detailing driving record within company standards. Meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements, pass substance abuse screening and agree to random substance abuse screening as required by company policy.

Education and/or Experience: Class A driving history of no less than two (2) recent years is required to obtain and maintain this position.

Language and/or Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate using devices supplied by the company. Be able to read and speak English fluently in order to converse with the general public, ability to understand highway traffic signs and signals in English, respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records.

Mathematic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Abilities: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the team member is regularly required to sit, stand, talk or hear. Team member is frequently required to walk or to sit in a cab for long periods of time. Other demands may include: the use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Successful candidate must regularly lift and/or move hoses and fittings that weigh up to 50 pounds and can climb steps and ladders. The successful candidate must possess a high degree of attention and control of a tractor trailer to prevent damage to the health of the driver and the public, company and/or private property, and equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift, carry 50lbs occasionally, and push or pull up to 75lbs and pull delivery hose considerable distances to end user tanks.
