We are currently seeking Sample Analysis Lab Technicians to join a lab team performing sample analysis for a large scale phosphate exploration drilling project near Soda Springs, Idaho. Successful Applicants will work closely with Technical Coordinator, other Sample Technicians, Sample coordinator, and plant lab personnel. To complete this large-scale exploration drilling project this position will begin approximately mid-June and go through November.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
ï Promote a safe and productive working environment.
ï Attend pre-job training and orientation.
ï Work closely with technical staff and sample coordinator to execute work on projects.
ï Ensure sample organization and integrity to provide the highest sample analysis quality.
ï Prepare samples for shipment from laboratory, while strictly adhering to chain of custody and other accepted Standard Operating Procedures.
ï Use lab equipment to perform sample analysis.
ï Enter sample analysis results into a database.
ï Provide pass along information to rotating shifts.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
ï Must be a safety oriented individual and adhere to all company safety requirements.
ï Strict attention to detail to ensure a very high level of quality control for sample processing.
ï Open and flexible to working long hours (~50 hours/week) potentially in inclement weather conditions.
ï Ability to work the duration of the field season, which is currently slated for mid-June through November near Soda Springs, Idaho.
ï Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
ï Ability to stand for long periods of time on hard and/or uneven surfaces.
ï Good written and verbal communication skills essential.
ï Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
ï Previous related internship or other related work experience is a plus.
Requirements:
ï Must be available to start work on mid-June and work through November.
ï Must possess a valid driverâs license.
ï Comfortable working a rotating shift. This could potentially fluctuate from day to night and will likely be in increments of 12 hours.
ï This position is subject to a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
Position Location/Schedule:
These positions will be located at the Mine Plant. Technicians will be expected to drive to the Plantâs lab. Work schedule may include rotating shifts possibly including nights.
