Vacancy expired!

Are you someone with a caring and nurturing heart? Are you looking for an opportunity to help a person in need and be rewarded not only with a salary, but also with the knowledge that you are making a difference in someone's life? If so, I might have the job opportunity for you. I'm a male in my 40's who has been dealing with some health issues for the past few years.

Four years ago, my auto immune system decided that it either hates me or loves me too much! Non contagious, it has begun attacking my body. I have Crohn's disease, epilepsy and neurological damage. My vision has also been affected as well as personal mobility. So far, I have had three related surgeries, with two this year already. I will be having more before 2020 ends. In addition, I have psoriasis which is spread sporadically over my entire body. Therefore, the State of Idaho has determined that it is necessary for me to have full time in home health care and assistance.

I am a very friendly, relaxed, and low drama type of person. I love to have fun, joke and live life to it's fullest. I'm not one of those clients who grumps at everything, nor am I expecting you to just be the “hired help.” I am seeking someone who can not only do the job, but be a close friend to me as well.

Having had a slew of caregivers in the past, I have discovered that not everyone is capable of excelling in this field of work. Therefore, I am now looking for someone very specific.

Job Responsibilities:

Home maintenance: Doing the dishes, vacuuming, deep cleaning of the bathroom, sweeping and mopping floors, personal laundry and other duties as needed.

Personal care: I am unable to bathe myself safely. There have been many instances where I have had seizures and or passed out in the middle of showers. Therefore I need someone who can both give showers and sponge baths. Being a male, I need to be shaved. I am also in need of stand by assist. That means that when I am walking even short distances, you need to be right by my side to make sure that I do not have any falls. I also need someone who can cook for me. Occasionally, I'll ask you to run to the store or pharmacy.

Companion care: It's lonely being in the house by yourself day after day, unable to get out. You would need to have an outgoing and friendly personality. On days where my strength is up to it, we would go outside and even go fishing in the nearby river and ponds. Sometimes it would simply be sitting outside. Other times, it would be staying in the house and keeping me company. On my weakest days, just being present to make sure I do not need any medical attention.

Once the daily chores are completed, most of the time spent will revolve around relaxation and or recreation. I vape and do not mind if you vape or smoke. I also have four cats, so you must not have any allergies towards them. I love piercings and tattoos – of which I have four.

However, I do have some requirements. When doing the dishes, they must be completely cleaned. Unfortunately, I have had too many caregivers who seem to think that because the dishes were dunked in water, they are clean. Sadly, this isn't so. If there are food particles still on them, well, they need more work before being put away. Vacuuming must be done often and thoroughly. Due to having cats as pets, they tend to shed a lot of hair. A quick swipe of the carpet doesn't do the job. When cleaning the bathroom, it is very important that it is actually cleaned, not smeared. This included not only the toilet, but the floors, shower and mirrors. I do provide the cleaning supplies.

You must be reliable. If you have outstanding commitments that would prevent you from working a full 40 hours a week on a regular basis, then unfortunately this job will not be a good fit for you. If you are a student, it is fine for you at times to do your schoolwork here. However, you must constantly be able to be here during the scheduled hours. There will be times when I have doctor and other related medical appointments, and unfortunately, the State of Idaho will not pay for both those and your salary at the same time. However, unless surgery is involved, it will only be a short interruption during the day. You must be able to be flexible around that. If you wish to make up those hours, I am quite happy to accommodate that.

Concerning personal care, it is vital that you are not the type of person who is shy. During bathing, nudity is a reality and you are going to get very wet. You must also be extremely thorough when cleaning my entire body. I cannot have someone bathe me who is going to shy away from certain body areas. I am not shy in the least, and neither should you be. To keep the psoriasis under control, after each bathing, I require ointment to be rubbed on my entire body. Just as in bathing, you can not be shy. I need it everywhere. I also have a very low cold tolerance, so you need to make sure I am kept warm after bathing. You also need to be close by to keep an eye on me to make sure I do not go into a seizure. I also need assistance in shaving not only my face, but also my head and other areas of my body so that the ointment can be applied.

Please do not be on your cell phone or other device constantly. There are going to be slow times when I am either taking a nap or on my computer where it is ok to do so. Any other time I need you to pay attention to me.

I have listed all of these specifics not because I am some authoritarian ogre, but because of what I have experienced with previous caregivers and also so that you will know what is expected. As I mentioned in the beginning, I'm actually a very easy going guy. I hate drama with a passion and would rather spend my day joking and having a smile on my face.

You will be hired by me personally, but another company will be handing the payments as they are authorized through the State of Idaho to do so. This protect both you and I as far as money is concerned.

Compensation:

The pay starts at $8.50/hour based upon experience. You must be CPR certified and if not, they will help you become so. Once you are, you will receive a raise. In addition, they help with tuition if you wish to pursue a CNA. There are other raises that come with the job, however, I am not privy to the frequency nor how much they are when it happens.

Healthcare is classified as a necessity during the COVID crisis, so you are guaranteed work.

Requirements:

You must be 18 years or older, be able to pass a background check and you must have your own reliable vehicle.

If you are still interested, please contact me. I would love to set up an in person interview with you. When you do contact me, please mention some of the requirements so that I know you read this whole long book of an add.
