Western Transport Inc. an Idaho Falls refrigerated trucking company since 1963 is looking for an energetic, self starting, meticulous person to manage our HR and Recruiting efforts.
The right candidate has the ability to work in a fast paced, email heavy, Multi-tasking, team environment. The HR Manager/Recruiter will work directly with our safety director, drivers, and management on a daily basis.
The HR manager will work Monday - Friday 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. with occasional on call responsibilities.
Daily Job Expectations
Interview and recruit Professional drivers.
Perform background checks on potential hires.
Attend Job fairs and schools to speak about Professional driving.
Cold calling potential candidates.
Maintaining and creating new advertising for job openings.
Maintain accurate and up to date personnel files.
Perform new hire orientations and training for new hires.
Act as a liaison between drivers and staff.
Help coach and motivate employees.
Organize group lunches, Christmas Parties, and Outings.
Initiate any needed disciplinary actions up to terminations.
Work directly with our Safety director on any claims.
Manage Health Benefits and answer employee questions regarding them.
Ensure that State regulatory filings have been completed.
Some occasional travel may be required for training purposes.
Assist with other office and HR tasks as directed by Management.
Requirements
Must be Friendly and able to work in a team environment.
Ability to continually learn and adapt in a heavily regulated and changing industry.
Experience in transportation or logistics is helpful.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Products.
Must demonstrate the ability to learn and master trucking specific software.
Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Meticulous attention to detail is a must.
Confidentially is required.
Previous Trucking or logistics experience is preferred.
Bachelors degree In HR preferred, other Bachelors degrees or minimum 3 years of Trucking operations experience will be considered.
