DescriptionPUBLIC HEALTH DISTRICT 1 is looking for a Training Specialist - Training and Exercise Coordinator with Emergency Preparedness experience in Hayden, ID!General Responsibilities:

Plans, develops, executes and evaluates public health preparedness exercises

Plans, develops, implements and evaluates public health preparedness training courses

Presents training to adult groups in structured learning situations using a variety of training methods and software applications

Develops drills, workshops and exercises for Health District staff and healthcare providers in North Idaho

Coordinates training opportunities and exercise schedules with preparedness partners

Develops and implements training needs assessments of Health District staff

Assists in the development and review of Public Health District Emergency Operations Plans

Minimum Qualifications

Good knowledge of training theory

Experience performing needs assessments, developing training objectives, designing and developing coursework and evaluating the training

Experience presenting training to adult groups in structured learning situations

Experience using a variety of training methods

Supplemental InformationExtra Credit: The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

Experience in the development and execution of tabletop, functional and full-scale exercises

Completion of the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) course

Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) certification

Experience with Public Health Preparedness, National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS)

Possession of a current Commercial Driver's License

Experience with writing and/or reviewing Emergency Operations Plans

I have successfully completed college degree core requirements (to include 400 level coursework) in the area of instructional technology or a very closely aligned program providing a strong theory base in the field of training and development;

I have approximately two years of experience actually providing training AND have completed approximately 40 hours of trainer development coursework or workshops covering the specifics of trainer development including: adult learning theory; training needs assessment; development of training objectives; course or curriculum design; presentation skills and training evaluation techniques.

I do not have the experience or education as described in the previous two options which are minimum requirements for this position.
