JOB SUMMARYSt. Mary's Health System, a member of Covenant Health, is hiring for a full-time Recreational Therapist to work in our post-acute units at d'Youville Pavilion. The Recreational Therapist provides ongoing development and implementation of Therapeutic Programs for the Facility as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Provides patient/resident care in accordance with established organizational policies.The Recreational Therapy program at d'Youville Pavilion is designed to compliment and support our other services, such as Therapeutic Activities, Restorative Nursing and Therapy Department. They will be responsible for coordinating therapeutic programs: Individualizing the activities to meet the specific need of each resident, develop and implement a walking and exercise program to reduce elder falls, continue fine tuning of therapeutic programming to optimize elder participation and enjoyment, leading group and individual indoor/outdoor activities and maintaining a balance of recreational programming including physical, social, emotional and educational wellbeing.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy
Certified Recreational Therapist preferred
BLS certification required
Experience:
1 year previous experience in Recreational Therapy preferred but not necessary
Ability to multi-task and remain organized
Other Skills Required;
Excellent written, verbal or interpersonal skills required
Ability to handle multiple priorities at once
Excellent organizational skills and attentive to details
