Columbia Pulp is looking for motivated individuals to operate our new straw pulping facility near Starbuck, Washington. Successful candidates will be self-starting, hardworking, driven, detail-oriented individuals that show a willingness to take on new responsibilities. Individuals will learn and optimize new processes contributing to the success of the organization. Job duties will be a mixture of manual labor, process control, mobile equipment operation as well as troubleshooting and monitoring of the equipment. We currently have openings for production operators in the specific areas of: Straw Handling , Pulp / Utility , Wetlap, Day Loader.
Roles and Responsibilities
⢠Possess the mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve process issues.
⢠Basic math and computer skills.
⢠Thorough inspection of various equipment for proper operation and report issues to supervisor.
⢠Perform housekeeping, cleaning, and organizing functions with minimal supervision to ensure areas are clean and free from debris.
⢠Load and unload trucks and railcars.
⢠Perform other duties as skills allow or as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
⢠Ability to prioritize work and take appropriate action to ensure machinery remains safe and operational.
⢠Forklift, skid-steer and/or other industrial mobile equipment experience is preferred.
⢠Ability to work safely, comply with all safety rules, lift, push or pull >50lbs., open/close valves, navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
⢠Dependability and good attendance is a must. Work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and nights. Usually 8,12, and occasional 16 hr. shifts. Some overtime and days off work at short notice will be required at times.
⢠Ability to work in hot and humid environment or cold outdoor environment depending on season.
⢠Tolerance to a production environment that uses chemicals is required
⢠Ability to read instructions in English and communicate effectively in a team and self-directed manner.
⢠Perform job duties that require physical exertion in a heavy industrial environment while wearing protective safety equipment (PPE).
⢠Authorized to work in the United States
⢠Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
