Position Description: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior physical functionality, appearance and safety of the apartment community while providing outstanding customer service.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Complete apartment turns and remodels as necessary.
- Respond to work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner in order to perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance needs.
- Record and report completed repairs and items that require further attention.
- Maintain all tools and equipment.
Needed Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Carpentry
o Install cabinets, counter tops, base board and casing
o Install exterior and interior doors
o Mid level woodworking
- Plumbing
o Install vanity, kitchen sink, garbage disposal, dishwasher and toilet
o Mid level troubleshooting skills
- Electrical
o Install outlets, switches, appliances and light fixtures
o Mid level troubleshooting skills
- HVAC
o Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Drywall
o Hang and finish
- Painting
o Neat and efficient
Requirements:
- Be able to lift 80lbs
- Comfortable climbing ladders up to 2 ½ stories
- Have own tools (preferred)
- Have reliable transportation
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug test
Education and Experience:
- High School
- 2 years experience in maintenance (preferred)
Hours:
- 7:30A 4:30P, Monday Friday
- On-call 1 week per month (possible)
Compensation:
- $12-$18 hourly (based on experience)
