We are seeking an Industrial Development Manager who will be the main point of contact for the coordination of Utility-offered industrial energy efficiency programs and resources. The Industrial Development Manager uses their industry network to proactively develop project opportunities and build relationships and acts as the facilitator between customers, vendors, implementation contractors, and energy efficiency service providers.

This is a full-time, exempt position with our partner, Resource Innovations. Cascade Energy and Resource Innovations have partnered to conduct industrial outreach for our utility client. The outreach team is a tight-knit collaboration of professionals from both organizations.

Travel is anticipated for this role approximately 20% - 30% of the time, consisting of primarily of day trips.

As a part of our team, the most important qualifications are shared values, a customer-centric approach, and an aptitude for learning. You would be a great fit for this position if you:

Bring comprehensive knowledge of industrial customers, vendors, suppliers, and contractors operating in the greater Chicago area

Hold a solid understanding of industrial technologies (i.e., what systems use energy, how they use energy, what methods exist for reducing energy use)

Understand the industrial environment and have experience on a technical sales team

Enjoy building and leveraging industry networks by communicating effectively with a broad audience ranging from executives to equipment operators

Pay close attention to customer “care-abouts” and have built trusting, long-term, professional relationships

Have a BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, Engineering, or related field

Exercise critical thinking and apply exceptional problem-solving skills while remaining flexible

Understand project financial metrics and how projects are “sold” to upper management
