We are in search of an energetic, compassionate, and organized teacher to lead an in-home preschool for a small group of 3-4 year olds this year. We are not comfortable sending our children to a traditional preschool because of COVID-19, but we are concerned about the long-term effects of delaying socialization with peers. Our hope is to establish a close-knit in-home preschool with a few other families, all committed to social distancing outside of this circle in order to create a healthy and safe learning environment. We would love to find a passionate educator who is interested in the opportunity to design and implement their own educational vision!
The opportunity:
- Stay safe in an in-home classroom environment
- Practice your profession without the burden of managing masks and social distancing
- Stretch your entrepreneurial and creative muscles
- Compensation commensurate with experience and class size
- Include your children if age-appropriate
- Located in Bucktown
We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and qualities:
- Experience teaching in a PK3 classroom
- Develop a curriculum for PK3 and possibly PK4 classes
- Willingness to follow social distancing and CDC guidelines outside of school (no visits to bars, indoor dining, airplane travel, etc, and commitment to mask-wearing outside the home).
- Energetic, passionate, creative, patient, kind, organized, fun
- Able to manage a small class of 3-4 year olds: attend to individual needs while directing group lessons
- Able to drive yourself (no public transportation)
- Up-to-date vaccinations
- Background check
- Willing to commit to a full year of classes (Sept 2020-June2021)
- Montessori education experience a plus
- Spanish language a plus
It is important to us to work with someone professional, open, and willing to establish a strong relationship of mutual respect, trust, and collaboration in these uncertain times.
If you think you might be a good fit, we'd love to hear from you! Please contact us with your resume, expected pay, and a brief description of your teaching style so we can begin to get to know you.
