Peraton is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a

Staff Subject Matter Expert Application Processing System (APS) Network Engineeron the NetOps Team in the Premise OS Section. This position is in support of a recent award / United States Military Entrance Processing Command, (MEPCOM) and will support remote/telework with travel to the customer facility located in Northern Chicago, Illinois as required.

Duties:
  • Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity
  • Troubleshoot/Resolve hardware issues
  • Creation of test plans, SOPs and updating same
  • Supports one or more project teams engaged in the design, implementation and modification of IT projects
  • Support migration/implementation of CISCO UCM
  • Prepares project execution plan and identifies appropriate technical and business resources needed
  • Keeps current on advances in the field of IT
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to projects


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline and a minimum of 12 years of experience with networking and computing system operations. May consider additional years of expericnce in lieu of degree
  • Knowledge and experience with VoIP and SIP communication network design
  • Knowledge and experience in SOP and test plan creation
  • Knowledge and experience with Cisco UCM migration and implementation
  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting complex network connectivity and hardware issues
  • Current IAT Level II certification-one of the following; (CompTIA Security + CE, CCNA Security, SSCP, GSEC, etc.)
  • Ability to Obtain and Maintain additional certifications as required by the customer
  • US Citizenship required


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related discipline and a minimum 15 years of experience with networking and computing system operations
  • Current IAT/IAM Level III certification (CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, GSLC, CISM)
  • Experience supporting MEPCOM or other DoD agency
