Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, sets up and adjusts envelope folding machines for safe and efficient operation in the production process. This includes the start-up, operation, adjustment to proper parameters involving close tolerances, maintenance, troubleshooting, and cleaning of the equipment. May provide training and assistance to lesser skilled adjusters and/or operators.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
These are functions a qualified incumbent or applicant must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation.

At the start of the shift, inspect all orders processed on machine during the previous shift for correctness of folding, gumming, printing, count and packaging; obtain approval from lead adjuster or supervisor on start-up of new orders.
Make proper size changes and adjustments to all assigned machines in accordance with estimated change times; note any delays on work order.
Continuously monitor all assigned machines and performance of operators to ensure quality and run speed standards are being met.
Provide training and assistance to coworkers, including other adjusters.
Ensure all change parts are cleaned and returned to parts cage or other assigned areas at completion of order.
Return ink, skids, cut blanks, etc. to their assigned areas upon completion of order.
Review condition of all panel cutting dies with lead adjuster or supervisor once they are removed from machines; return dies to parts cage to be returned to inventory or sent out for reconditioning.
Ensure all check sheets, time reports, and other paperwork is filled out correctly and completely.
Relay any special instructions or important information pertaining to machine performance to next shift upon their arrival.
Monitor machine shut downs where applicable to ensure proper wash up of machines at end of shift; ensure work area is clean.


Other (Non-Essential) Functions
Includes functions which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be reassigned to other employees as part of a "Reasonable Accommodation" under the ADA.

Act as back up Machine Operator during breaks and meal periods as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

  • Summary This is a temporary, excepted service position is limited to law students in their first year of law school, located in the Midwest Regional Office in the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC enforces federal consumer protection laws and federal antitrust laws. The Student Trainees\' goal is to provide representation in legal casework by assisting attorneys in obtaining factual information to support legal arguments and thereby aid the work of the office\'s litigation efforts. Responsibilities Serves in the capacity of a Student Trainee (Honors Legal Intern). Performs duties under the supervision of higher graded attorneys who give instructions as to the objectives and results to be obtained, and is available for guidance as to methods and procedures to be followed during progress of assignments and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. The Student Trainee assists attorneys working on cases or legal issues in one or more of the following or related areas: consumer protection law practices including case selection and investigation The incumbent performs a variety of legal duties such as: researching legal issues which are factually complex drafting pleadings discovery requests and responses assisting in the development and review of drafts of letters, memoranda, and legal documents including complaints, subpoenas, and orders for use by a higher graded attorney participating in administrative or judicial hearings and pretrial conferences assisting with/in the conducting of preliminary review of sanctions, practices, violations, or complaints leading interview calls and summarizing findings through written reports participating in investigations and studies to obtain facts and information that can be used for drafting trade regulation rules and guides assisting in the development of outreach activities with local business, government and consumer representatives to further education or enforcement efforts Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis in an accredited high school, college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate.
